About the Program

Executive MBA program is designed to capture the dimension of futuristic organizations with an immersive and active learning experience to equip future leaders. The program will benefit those having a strong entrepreneurial mindset and leverage upon various GoI initiatives like Atamanirbhar Bharat, Make in India and Start-up India. The entire spectrum of program will cover emerging global trends, international interface, align with the government eco-system, and transform opportunities into actions. The program shall emphasize more on people management and digital transformation.

Program Title

On the successful completion of the program, participants would be awarded the title ‘Executive MBA'.

Program Objectives 

The predominant goal of the Program is to help the participants enhance their entrepreneurial skills and strategies to take organization at next-level and to activate their personal development and emerge as responsible Leaders. The specific objectives are as under:

Program Structure

In line of the established norms of conferring an MBA degree, the total minimum contact hours for the program are mentioned below:
  • Total 750 hours of classroom teaching, 450 hours in the first year, and 300 hours in the second year.
    • Module 1 – Term I, II & III - 450 hours of core courses
    • Module 2 – Term IV & V - 180 hours of elective courses
    • Module 3 – Term VI – 90 hours of compulsory advance courses 
    • Project - 30 hours
  • Blended learning model with a combination of online and offline classroom modes
  • In-campus visit at the beginning of first year and second year.
  • Weekend classes or/and evening classes on weekdays
  • Course delivery would include an eclectic mix of Flipped classrooms, case-based methods of teaching, simulations, problem-solving exercises, assignments, roleplay, and in-class discussions.

Pedagogy & Learning Experience

Flipped Classroom, Blended Learning, Innovative approach in pedagogy of learning. The Blended-mode of course-delivery addresses the constraints of working professionals in having to be away from work for extended durations of time, typically necessitated by fully on-campus, residential programs. The program is planned to be offered on high definition, video conference based virtual classroom (VCR) online platform and offline mode i.e., on Campus of IIM Sambalpur.

Design Thinking

Design Thinking has emerged as a unique and essential element of entrepreneurial orientation. Therefore, design thinking course is structured as compulsory course in the program. Design thinking is an iterative process which seeks to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding.  As a part of this course, we will run design sprints, to solve entrepreneurial issues keeping users as the centre of solution. This course shall empower you to apply design thinking methods to solve complex problems with innovation.

Business Entrepreneurship Projects

As a part of compulsory field project, each participant will undertake a business project or social entrepreneurship project. Business project will help you to ideate, develop a business plan, create prototype and test. The project will be act as simulation to explore and experiment all entrepreneurial facets of the program. The project will be time-based purpose driven activity. 

Sustainability

With the emergence of Sustainability Development Goals (SDG 2030), sustainability has become an emerging focus of all business houses and corporate hubs. Every futuristic organisation is strategically planning their policies and actions on sustainability. Health, Hygiene, Sanitation, Clean water, Education, Equality, Involvement of all stakeholders are few initiatives taken by every responsible and sustainable business. As a part of experiential learning, you will experience a wide range of insights, conversation, workshop, and powerful action by policy makers.

Social Innovation

Social innovation is the key driver for developing economies. The high impact action and enormous amount of opportunity available in social innovation space has made policy makers and industry to come out with several plan. The entire phenomena of Public-Private Partnership have helped many smart cities, government projects and private businesses to transform societal needs into profitable ventures. During the course, you will exposed to several social innovation projects in the form of classroom discussion, small group projects, corporate interactions, immersion activity and seminars.

Qualification

Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent percentage. 

Experience

A minimum 3 years of Post Qualification managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience as on last date of application

Standard Test Score

A valid CAT/GMAT/GATE/GRE score (not more than three years old as on 30/5/2021)

Or

IIMSAT (Candidates not having a valid test score as above should appear for IIMSAT)

Selection Procedure

The selection shall be based on Test Score, Personal Interview (richness of industry experience, communication skills, leadership ability, and potential diversity factor), Academic Qualifications and Relevant Work Experience.

Program Fee

The total fee for Executive MBA is Rs. 9,00,000/- (Nine Lac) which includes tuition Fees, Virtual Library Access (such as cost of materials/cases/library materials/ Databases/ Archive etc.) and Campus Immersion (IIM Sambalpur campus only).
