IIM Sambalpur invites applications for Faculty Positions at the level of Professor / Professor of Practice, Associate Professor / Associate Professor of Practice, Assistant Professor Grade-I & Grade-II from General / SC / ST / NC-OBC / EWS category. Appointments will be made on regular or contractual basis depending upon qualification, experience, suitability, and institutional requirements.

Assistant Professor (Regular) on completion of 3 years of regular service in the relevant pay level including past regular service in other eligible institutions subject to fulfillment of performance requirements and approval of competent authority shall move to Academic Level 13A1 with initial basic pay of ₹1,31,400 while continuing designation as Assistant Professor.

Eligibility Criteria — Professor

  • Ph.D. degree or equivalent in discipline with first class throughout academic career.
  • Minimum 10 years teaching/research/industry experience with at least 4 years at Associate Professor level in IITs, IIMs, NITIE, IISc, IISERs, top 50 NIRF institutions or comparable foreign universities.
  • At least 3 papers in A/A* or 6 papers in B category journals or equivalent contribution in ABDC/ABS rankings during last 4 years.
  • Out of the above publications, minimum 2 papers must be in A/A* category.
  • Desirable: Guided at least 3 Ph.D./FPM scholars, conducted 3 consultancy/research projects, and published Harvard/Ivey cases.

Professor of Practice (Contract)

  • Minimum 20 years relevant industry/government experience.
  • At least 5 years at senior leadership level.
  • Interest and ability to teach Leadership Development Program (LDP).
  • Ph.D. desirable but not mandatory.
  • First Class (minimum 60%) in Graduation and Post Graduation.
  • First Class (minimum 60%) in Class X and XII.
  • Initial appointment for 1–2 years extendable up to 5 years.
  • Retirement age: 65 years.

Associate Professor

  • Ph.D. with excellent academic record.
  • Minimum 6 years teaching/industry/research experience.
  • Minimum 3 years experience at Assistant Professor level.
  • Minimum: 2 papers in A/A* OR 4 papers in B OR 8 papers in C category journals.
  • At least one publication must be in A/A* category.
  • Desirable: Guided one Ph.D./FPM scholar and conducted consultancy/research projects.

Associate Professor of Practice

  • Minimum 15 years industry/government experience.
  • Ability to teach Leadership Development Programs.
  • Ph.D. desirable but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 60% marks in Graduation/Post Graduation/Class X/XII.
  • Contract initially for 1–2 years extendable up to 5 years.
  • Retirement age: 65 years.

Assistant Professor Grade-I

  • Ph.D. degree or equivalent in relevant discipline.
  • Excellent academic record with first class throughout.
  • Minimum 3 years teaching/research/industry experience excluding Ph.D. duration.
  • Research publications in A or B category journals required for confirmation.

Assistant Professor Grade-II

  • Fresh Ph.D. candidates with less than 3 years experience can apply.
  • Position offered on contract basis.
  • Placement in Academic Pay Level 10 or 11 based on experience.
