About the Programme :
The Odisha Research Centre (ORC) was established on the 26th of November 2023 by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) in collaboration with the Indian Knowledge Systems Division, Ministry of Education, IIM Sambalpur, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Bhubaneswar. The primary goal of the Odisha Research Centre is to develop innovative epistemological frameworks to explore various dimensions of Odisha’s history, culture, economy, and society in a nuanced manner.
The Odisha Research Centre is a unique research centre to delve deep into the rich cultural and historical heritage of Odisha and to promote multidisciplinary research. It seeks to encourage research and academic collaboration, public engagement, establishment of Odisha Studies, archiving, and documentation of Odisha’s heritage. The ORC aims at fostering knowledge practices that explore Odisha’s history, culture, and political economy. This research Centre provides catalytic grants to researchers engaged in innovative academic endeavours and it aspires to produce a generation of young scholars who are proud of their glorious past, aware of the current challenges and dedicated to carve a better future.
