Narendra M. Agrawal is an Adjunct Professor at IIM Bangalore (He superannuated as a full professor in July 2014). Currently, he works at IIM Sambalpur and IIM Udaipur as an adjunct faculty. Prof. Agrawal has been a visiting faculty at St. Gallen University, Switzerland; Gothenburg University, Sweden; AESE, Lisbon; IESE, Madrid; PUC, Chile and PIM, Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is a mechanical engineer and a Fellow of IIM Ahmedabad (1988).
Professor Agrawal’s areas of research interests are essentially organisation focused and multi-disciplinary in nature. His current research interests are human challenges of knowledge organizations, innovative learning processes in high performing Indian organizations, leadership and change management, developing leadership pipeline, managing knowledge workers, creating learning and innovative organizations, and designing effective training systems.
Prof. Agrawal was a British Council Scholar in 1988 and had attended three-months program, ‘Sharing British Training Experiences’ in UK. He has developed a unique system for transfer of learning from classroom to work situation. His paper on the subject received a ‘Best Paper Award’ from Indian Society for Training and Development.
Prof. Agrawal has been a consultant for Punjab PWD, Union Textile Commissioner, Madras Refinery, Mahindra Tractors, Cochin Refinery, SAP Lab, BWSSB, Bangalore, Karnataka Electricity Board, KIOCL and Fractal Analytics. Prof. Agrawal consulted with Toshiba (India) from 2015-2018 helping the line managers to write cases.
Prof. Agrawal has conducted more than 1,200 management development programmes in India and abroad. ABB, Atos, BHEL, CIG, CISCO, Fractal Analytics, IBM, JSW, Laxmi Bank – Nepal, National Bank of Dubai, Novo Nordisk, People’s Bank-Sri Lanka, Randstad, Siemens, Schneider, Toshiba, UTC are some of the organizations for whom Prof. Agrawal has designed and conducted leadership development programs.
