Sumita is an Assistant Professor at IIM Sambalpur. She has a decade of academic experience. Prior to the academics, she has worked in development sector. She has interdisciplinary interests and works on cross boundary topics of sustainability, ethics, natural resource management, public policy, and Corporate social and environmental responsibility. She has qualitative research skills and experience in Case Research Methodology and Ethnography.
She is an FPM (Fellow Programme in Management) from Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB). Her doctoral thesis is titled ‘Stakeholder Influence and Corporate Environmental Responsibility in Mining Companies in Odisha, India’. She holds bachelors and master’s degree in forestry from a premier university in India.
She has conducted and been part of research projects, consultancies, and training programmes. She has publications in tiered journals and book chapters.
She has attended international short courses and conferences related to her work.
