Professional executive learning programmes designed to strengthen leadership, functional expertise, and application-based management capabilities.

About The MDP Programme

Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur considers training and development of working professional as an important offering in management education. The Institute offers a wide range of MDPs on futuristic and contemporary themes in all functional areas such as strategy, human resources, marketing, finance, operations, and information technology. All programs are meticulously designed to enrich experiential learning and exposure for participating managers. These programs are a mix of advance learning and application-based management practices.

IIM Sambalpur also offers general management programs for executives shifting into managerial roles at any career stage. Such programs are structured on fundamental understanding of functional areas of management. The participants develop and overall understanding of management and its key interconnected phenomena.

In-company or customized MDPS are training programs designed to cater a specific set of participants with specific requirements. Such programs are designed on need-analysis of client, understanding of industry requirement and according develop training content to simulate an appropriate context. These programs are conducted either in campus or any other location mutually decided in both online and offline format.

MDP Programme Details

IIM Sambalpur offers MDP in all functional areas of management based on company requirement. In-company or customised MDPS are training programs designed to cater a specific set of participants with specific requirements. Such programs are designed on need-analysis of company, understanding of industry requirement and according develop training content to simulate an appropriate context. These programs are conducted either in campus or any other location mutually decided by both parties, in both online and offline format.

The duration of these program ranges from 2 days to six months depending upon the requirement and complexity of topic covered.

MDP on ‘Art of Self leadership and managerial effectiveness’ for senior management MCL

It was a five-day program designed to cater the needs of Mahanadi Coal India Limited senior management requirement. The program was developed on deep understanding of their task and complexity of coal industry. The program was delivered through case studies, role plays, interactive group discussion, assignments, management exercise, lecture, and experiential learning. The focus of program was to develop leadership competency and resilience during tough time.

MDP on ‘Strategic leadership for senior management’, MCL

It was a five-day program designed to cater the needs of Mahanadi Coal India Limited senior management requirement. The program was developed on deep understanding of their task and complexity of coal industry. This program was delivered with case studies, assignment, and classroom discussion. A total of 25 senior management participants. The focus of program was to develop leadership competency and resilience during tough time.

MDP on ‘Saksham – Leadership Competency framework’ for IOCL

IIM Sambalpur has become a knowledge partner with the Indian Oil Institute of Petroleum Management (IiPM), which is the apex Learning & Development Center of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for delivering customised Leadership program for its officers through premier B-Schools. A Six-day long Leadership Development Program (LDP) for Middle-level managers of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). IiPM has been delivering a as the knowledge partners. This comprehensive training program was developed after a thorough understanding of the “Saksham- Leadership Competency Framework of Indian Oil Corporation,” which comprises of 8 key Leadership Competencies identified for leading the organization’s successful operations. The platform-based training was a unique experience for participants to share their experiences and learn newer skills through case-studies, experiential learning, and group tasks to lead their teams.

MDP on Enhancing Academic Leadership Skills: A Training & Mentoring Programme for CBSE Principals and Vice Principals

Considering this, IIM Sambalpur offers a short-duration training and mentoring programme on “Enhancing Academic Leadership Skills” for Principals and Vice Principal of the schools affiliated under CBSE in Odisha.
