Programme Objectives and Structure

IIM Sambalpur Campus Immersion

The Executive MBA (FinTech & AI) features a campus immersion at IIM Sambalpur, offering participants an opportunity to engage with the Institute’s dynamic academic ecosystem. The immersion combines interactive sessions, industry interactions, expert talks, and peer learning to provide a rich experiential dimension to the programme. Beyond academic enrichment, it facilitates networking with accomplished professionals and thought leaders, fostering the exchange of ideas and the development of lasting professional relationships. Mini Dissertation

As an integral component of the Executive MBA (FinTech & AI), participants undertake a Mini Dissertation in the second year of the programme to demonstrate their ability to integrate theoretical concepts with practical business applications. The Mini Dissertation encourages participants to explore emerging issues in FinTech, Artificial Intelligence, and digital finance using rigorous research methods and analytical tools. The final output, in the form of a structured report or manuscript, includes the problem statement, objectives, research design, analysis, findings, and strategic recommendations, enabling participants to contribute meaningful insights to industry and practice.

Management Application Project

As an integral part of the Executive MBA (FinTech & AI), participants undertake a Management Application Project to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the programme to a live business challenge. The project encourages participants to leverage emerging technologies, data-driven insights, and strategic management frameworks to develop innovative solutions for organisational problems. By integrating theory with practice, the project enhances participants’ ability to navigate complex business environments and drive digital transformation, reinforcing the programme’s emphasis on experiential and application-oriented learning.

Duration & Class Timings

The duration of the Programme is 02 years spread over six terms. Classes will be held online on Saturday & Sundays between 10:00 AM to 05:30 PM.

Bachelor’s Degree:

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. While degrees in any field are accepted, backgrounds in business, economics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related disciplines are preferred.

Work Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience as of the date of beginning of program.

Academic Proficiency:

Applicants should demonstrate strong academic skills, particularly in quantitative areas like mathematics, statistics, or economics. A solid grasp of business fundamentals is also beneficial.

Language Skills:

Proficiency in the language of instruction, usually English, may be required, particularly for international applicants. Evidence of language proficiency can be shown through previous qualifications or the medium of instruction.

Selection process

Candidates fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria shall be considered for the Personal Interview (PI) process. The Admission Committee, in consultation with the Competent Authority, shall determine the number of candidates to be called for the PI. Working professionals may be required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) or a “Consent Letter” from their employer for pursuing the Executive MBA (FinTech & AI) programme at IIM Sambalpur.

Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Candidates should submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) not exceeding 2000 words. The SOP should include a discussion of the candidate’s career path, interests, professional contributions, goals, and the driving force behind their pursuit of an MBA for working professionals.

Personal Interview

Upon being shortlisted the candidates shall appear for a personal interview in front of the selection panel. The selection panel will assess the suitability of the candidates based on their managerial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset.

Preparing The Merit List

The Final Merit List for admission to the program will be prepared based on the candidate’s Personal Interview, Academic Qualification, diversity and Statement of Purpose (SOP). The Personal Interview will be given a weightage of 60 percent. The candidate’s profile, which comprises of their Past Academic Performance and Diversity will each be given a weightage of 10 percent. The Statement of Purpose (SOP) & Career Objectives submitted by the candidate will carry a weightage of 20 percent.

• NEFT/RTGS transaction slip of Application Fee
• Copy of Caste and disability Certificate, if applicable
• PwD certificate must be issued by a Govt. Hospital, if applicable

Application Fees

The non-refundable application fee of Rs.2,500 (+GST) should be paid at the time of application.

Offer Acceptance Fee:

A candidate receiving an admission offer from IIM Sambalpur has to pay an offer acceptance amount of Rs.60,000/- (Rs. 50,000+ Rs. 10,000 (Refundable Amount)) within the stipulated date. If a candidate accepts the admission offer for the program, his/her offer acceptance amount will be adjusted against Program Fee.

Program Fee:

The Executive MBA in FinTech & AI by IIM Sambalpur Program fee is Rs.9,55,000/- (Rupees Nine lakh fifty five thousand only). The Enrolment fee is payable at the time of accepting the Institute’s offer of admission. The Institute offers term-wise course structure and accordingly the term-wise fee is payable before the commencement of a term as below.

Year Fee:

Enrolled Participants are expected to make term fee payment at least 10 days before the commencement of the term.

Alumni fees:

IIM Sambalpur Alumni fees of Rs. 5000 will be payable along with term III fees
 

“Travel, accommodation and other allied expenses for the immersion component is not included in the fees above and will be borne by the learner. In the event of withdrawal from program after registration, no refund of offer acceptance amount & term Fee will be made.”

Leadership roles across FinTech startups, corporate strategy, and regulatory/policy functions in finance and technology, supported by NSE Academy certifications, a Mini Dissertation, a Management Application Project, and IIM Sambalpur alumni status.
